What We Take Care of for You

So you don’t have to keep track of everything

You’ve Taken Care of Your Home for Years

You know how your home works.
You’ve handled the upkeep, the little fixes, the day-to-day details.

But over time, that list can grow.

And some of those small things start to take a little more effort…
or become easier to forget.

That’s where we come in.

Over the years, a home gathers a quiet list of things that need occasional attention.

Not big repairs.
Not major projects.

Just the small things that keep everything working the way it should.

Most of them are easy to do.
But remembering all of them—that’s the hard part.

We Help Take Care of the Little Things

During our regular visits, we quietly take care of many of the small but important items around your home.

Things like:

Safety Checks
  • Testing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

  • Replacing batteries when needed

  • Checking GFCI outlets to make sure they’re working properly

  • Replacing outlets or switches that are worn or no longer reliable

Heating, Air & Water
  • Replacing or checking furnace filters

  • Keeping water softener salt at the right level

  • Checking for early signs of leaks under sinks or near appliances

  • Making sure vents and airflow areas are clear

Lighting & Visibility
  • Replacing bulbs—including hard-to-reach areas

  • Improving lighting in hallways, stairways, and entry areas

  • Adding simple lighting options where things feel dim

Why This Matters

This isn’t about maintenance.

It’s about peace of mind.

Knowing that:

  • The small things are being taken care of

  • Your home continues to feel comfortable and easy to live in

  • Little issues are handled before they become bigger ones

So you can spend less time thinking about your home…

…and more time simply living in it.

If it ever feels helpful, we’re always here as a calm, respectful second set of eyes—ready to support those conversations in a way that feels comfortable for everyone involved.

No pressure.
Just a thoughtful place to start.

Everyday Comfort & Ease
  • Tightening loose handles, knobs, or railings

  • Making small adjustments to improve how things feel and function

  • Noticing areas that could be made easier to use

Handled Gradually, Not All at Once

There’s no long checklist handed to you.
No pressure to fix everything.

We take care of things gradually—over time.

A few items each visit.
At a pace that feels comfortable.

Always with your approval.

Simple Fixes—Without the Hassle

Many of these items are small and straightforward.

If something needs attention, it can often be taken care of right then and there—
without needing to schedule a separate service call or bring in additional help.

Simple things. Done properly.
Without turning it into a bigger project than it needs to be.

You’re Always in Control

Nothing is done without your approval.

If something is working well for you, it stays just the way it is.
If an adjustment might help, we’ll talk it through together.

You always decide what feels right.

Ask Us a Question

We'd Love to Hear From You

If you have a question, an idea, or something you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you.

Our mission is to help older adults live the best, fullest lives they can—and we know some of the best ideas come from people just like you.

Maybe you've discovered a simple way to make everyday life easier. Maybe you've found something that brought new purpose or enjoyment into someone's life. Or perhaps there's a question or topic you'd like us to explore.

Send it our way.

Your idea might inspire something we explore here at Homeguard—and it might even help another older adult discover a possibility they hadn't considered before.

Because sometimes the best ideas begin with one person simply saying, “Have you ever thought about this?”
